Getting to Boracay is a popular and well-documented trip, but there are definitely some information gaps on what to expect and how to prepare for your voyage, if you have never done it before. The purpose of this guide is to allow you to know exactly what to expect when visiting the island paradise of Boracay. Fly, Fly, Fly! With two international airports within a 2 hour van trip to Boracay, the availability of flights is quite abundant. Several domestic carriers have multiple, daily trips

Off the beaten track, in a small cove’s beach, is a concentration of high end resorts for luxury travelers. These are mostly foreign owned, and there are even recognizable names like Wyndham Hotels present in this area of Boracay known as Din-Iwid. Tucked back along the water is another unique resort and restaurant called Spider House. This happens to be one of my favorite places in Boracay because of the views, and the relaxing atmosphere… but its not that easy to get to, and

By now, you’ve heard the opinion from some Filipinos that “Boracay is too commercialized”, but you have to understand that the definition of commercialized can be different from person to person.

Philippines / Visayas / Aklan/ Boracay The thought that any place could remain 'hidden' on Boracay for long is really a farce; but Din-Iwid beach maintains the illusion of being hidden because it rests in a cove, and is not visible from White Beach or the main road. Perhaps the term small scale is a more accurate description of this place. A short trike ride along the National Road will lead you the first mall on Boracay: City Mall. Station Two is home of D*Mall and is the commercial heart of the island.

Philippines / Visayas / Aklan While Boracay can indeed be a luxury travel getaway, not everyone has the budget, or the desire, to see the island this way. Shopping and food are the top reasons people go to the market on Boracay, but not all experiences are created equal. A growing number of people travel to catch some of the local flavors, but without many local Filipino restaurants on the island, it can be frustrating to find traditional Filipino food and even seafood, at a reasonable price.

Ask anyone that has seen one in person and they will agree: Boracay Sunsets are world class. The sun appears much larger in the tropics, and its warm orange glow lights up the entire sky. Perhaps the best of all is that each sunset on Boracay is unique and absolutely free. You can enjoy a different looking sunset every day on the island, or spend a little bit of money and be on the water for a sunset cruise on a catamaran. The sunset cruises
